We are an informal group making our own "Armchair Theatre" reading plays by a varied selection of authors. They may be comedies, farces, murder mysteries, or straight plays and plays are chosen primarily to provide each member with a speaking role which may be large or small.
Authors have included Agatha Christie (of course!), Alan Ayckbourn, Tom Stoppard, Oscar Wilde, George Orwell, Simon Gray, Noel Coward, and J.B. Priestley. A recent play that we all enjoyed was an adaptation by James Roose-Evans of Laurie Lee's autobiographical novel "Cider With Rosie". It made us all very nostalgic for a time gone by.
Group availability to new members does vary over time, so if you are interested in joining us, please enquire via the Groups coordinator.
